You don’t know how good they are til they’re beaten and I don’t think 5 Rusty Dreams (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) will get beaten here. Very promising filly for Michael Lane that is 3/3 to start her career, resuming with a win over 1200m at Pinjarra where she really knuckled down strongly late to win. She then went to 1400m at Ascot two weeks ago when on speed before being clicked up by Parnham and she got better as the race went on, drawing clear to win impressively. The rise to 1600m should be fine and she just looks to have a bit of class on these.

Danger

3 Here For Cheques (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has come back in really good order and should prove to be a worthy threat. He led throughout to win at this track/distance on Good Friday, leading throughout where he got complete control and gave nothing else a look in, winning by over three lengths and it could have easily been further. Lands on speed and he’ll give cheek if he gets some level of control.

Long Shot

4 Mack Mack (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) doesn’t have the brilliance of some of these, but is a hard fit/in form gelding. All the way winner two back over this trip at Pinjarra before going to this track/distance three weeks back when attempting to lead throughout and gave a good kick but just lacked the change up speed to put them away when a narrow second to Catch These Hands. He is a tough bugger that will try hard and is a must for exotics.

Race 2. (14:28) Tabtouch – Westspeed (Rs0ly) 1200m

6 Lucky Landing (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is third up from a break and should just about be at peak fitness. Michael Lane trains this gelding, who resumed with a strong win over 1200m at Belmont before going to Pinjarra where he just took forever to wind up but was good in the run to the line when a close up third to Mojo Rhythm. Chris Parnham is back aboard and he can settle closer in the run from the good draw. He’ll do me.

Danger

Fitter and up to 1200m are two big ticks for 8 No Dice (Bet Now:
$SP.00
), who resumed on Good Friday over 1000m here. Pike was aboard and the mare just took forever to get going, only getting warm very late in the piece when a close up third to Leica Jaguar. Love that she gets to 1200m and I think it’s a pretty good lead that Pike sticks. Hard to beat.

Long Shot

5 Desert Vixen (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is knocking on the door to win for Simon Miller. She ran here on Good Friday where she had the suck run in behind the speed and took a while to wind into her work, trying to get clear air. She got out in time but couldn’t build the revs when third to Senorita Dorotea. Better for the run under the belt, she appeals with luck from a tricky gate.

Race 3. (15:08) Amelia Park Plate 1100m

Back Me

11 Bondi Plunge (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) looks to have a really good engine under the hood and she strikes a very winnable 2YO race. Daughter of Bondi on debut for Dan Morton off the back of two trial wins. First trial she sat back and found the line nicely under no riding before leading throughout to win the latest trial and seemed to move really well under Chris Parnham. Happy to be in her corner.

Danger

4 More Special (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) should appreciate the drop back in depth after racing three weeks ago in the Gimcrack at this track/distance where she was on speed throughout and tried her guts out but just lacked the quality to go with them late, with that form standing up in spades last Saturday in the Karrakatta. Lands near the front here and she’ll give a bold sight.

Long Shot

3 Soaring Solo (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is one I can entertain for wider multiples. She is racing for the third time in a month, outclassed two back in the Gimcrack before going to 1000m a week later when on speed and was just no match late for a sharp filly, Shell Bell. Not sure she is good enough to take this out but is one that can certainly fill a first four spot.

Race 4. (15:44) Sheila Gwynne Classic 1400m

Back Me

1400m is the knock with 1 Angelic Miss (Bet Now: $2.90) but they don’t look like they will go hard here and she does have the change up speed to beat these. She ran on Good Friday in the Marjorie Charleson where she got back in the small field, a sit/sprint, and looked the winner, but her first run since Feb 11, condition gave out when third to Gunmetal Grey. Like her up to 1400m, she’ll be within range on the turn and has class.

Danger

3 Gunmetal Grey (Bet Now: $2.70) is a beauty for Ross Price who was a strong winner of the Marjorie Charleson on Good Friday. She lobbed into a beaut spot behind the speed before Azzopardi angled her into clear air, got the revs up early and surged hard late to get the win. Love her up in trip, and she does have the runs on the board compared to most engaged.

Long Shot

5 Stellar Vista (Bet Now: $6.00) finds a very winnable blacktype race if she brings her best. She ran at this track/distance two weeks back where she got back in a slowly run race and did make up ground but was never really a threat behind the in form Magnificent Andy. Back to Mares grade and the small field helps her cause. If she brings her best, she is good enough to take this out.

Race 5. (16:24) Vale Sally Oakes (Rs1mw) 1000m

Back Me

Tricky race with several key winning chances but landed with 3 Sky Duke (Bet Now:
$SP.00
). Neville Parnham trains this four year old, who hasn’t raced since Jan 14 over 1200m here where he was game from off the speed but just found the 1200m a bridge too far behind Valsassina. He tends to race best on the fresh side, he likes 1000m and the recent trial was a pretty good piece of work. He’ll do me in an open contest.

Danger

4 Senorita Dorotea… (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) now that she has found winning form, can she go on with it? She was becoming a very frustrating mare to follow when racing well without winning but that all changed on Good Friday with a win over 1200m here, given a peach by Parnham and in a driving go, just held on. Not drawn the best but she is genuine and does try hard, and I think will be strong at the end.

Long Shot

8 Bold Prophet (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) deserves a crack in town the way he is racing. Tough win two back at Dongara before proving that was no fluke with a narrow on speed win at Geraldton on Sunday, landing bets at odds. Clearly this is a harder assignment for him but he’s hard fit, in form and I think it’s an interesting lead that Pike is booked to steer.

Race 6. (17:05) Crown Perth (Bm72+) 1600m

Imagine what you could be buying instead.

Back Me

8 Ex Sport Man (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) clearly on top for me. He was working up to a win with several eye catching efforts but the breaks went his way two weeks ago at this track/distance and the end result was a spank job win in pretty decent time as well. That was his first look at the mile for the prep and he passed with flying colours. Has that run under the belt, could be a case of good luck beating him.

Danger

4 Ginger Green (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is third up from a spell for Steve Wolfe and is racing like a rise to the mile will suit. Resumed with a big win over 1200m, beating a handy one in Western Knight. He then went to 1400m a fortnight back and was good late from off the speed without threatening behind Magnificent Andy, who is flying. Good record at the mile and has upside, so he appeals.

Long Shot

5 Kaymay (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is one to include in exotics. Had a suck run and battled away well enough in defeat fresh behind My Fury before going to 1400m where she got back to near last in the run and did make up solid ground in the straight behind Magnificent Andy, running fourth. Think with a more positive ride, she could be a knockout hope.

Race 7. (17:45) Glenroy Chaff (Bm66+) 2200m

Back Me

11 Cruisey Roy (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) gets the nod. Handy three year old for Holly Taylor that was heading down the WA Derby path but didn’t get there and instead went to a 2400m race on Good Friday where they rode him a bit upside down I thought in leading throughout and just feeling the pinch late when third to Gold Friars, I think with a bunny to chase, a more conservative steer, you’ll see a much better performance.

Danger

5 Duchees Demerit (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has found winning form and can certainly maintain it in a winnable race. Narrow second in a handy race at Albany two back before going to 2200m at Pinjarra last Wednesday where he got back to near last in the run but tracked up nicely and presented clear air in the straight to launch and finish over the top for a strong win. Has that 2200m run under the belt, which should hold him in good stead.

Long Shot

3 Brave Contender (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has done his recent racing at the Provincials but is flying and is in with a shout against these. Game third two back in the Narrogin Cup before going to the Albany Cup where they rode him with a sit and the result was a strong second to Said No One Ever after being well supported. Not sure he wins, but he is a must for multiples given he will be strong late.

Race 8. (18:20) Morley Growers Market (Rs1mw) 1600m

Imagine what you could be buying instead.

Back Me

6 Tenacious Reward (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) will do me but not really a race I want to get involved in. He has been pretty good in recent runs, winning three back over 1500m at Pinjarra before coming back to 1400m and was good late behind Stellar Vista before going to the mile three weeks ago and against the race shape, he closed off nicely to run a close up third to Catch These Hands. Drawn to get a sweet run in transit and appeals as one of the hardest to beat on paper.

Danger

3 Savanik (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. Just found the 1200m a tad sharp fresh behind Double Spice before going to 1400m here a fortnight back where she got back in the run and did make up headway but was never really a threat behind Cobbanco. Saves her best for the mile and with a more positive ride, she can take this out.

Long Shot

1 Bombay Style (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) jumps straight to the mile but appeals as a knockout hope. He ran over 1200m at Geraldton on Sunday where he got back to near last in the run and spotted them a big start but loved the way he found the line late in the piece to finish second to Arabian Riches. He has a good record at the mile and with the claim, he gets in well. A win wouldn’t totally shock.

Race 9. (19:00) Cale Jacobs 40Th B’day (Bm66+) 1200m

Imagine what you could be buying instead.

Back Me

11 Kosta’s Crown (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has been an enigma for punters throughout his career but he’s third up from a spell and gets a big jockey upgrade. He ran here on Good Friday and just forget he went around. He was near last in the small field and just couldn’t get involved behind Ruler Rocket. Parnham takes over and with the gate, hopefully he can settle closer in the run and be more effective late.

Danger

1 Above The Peg (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is a son of Blackfriars that resumes for Simon Miller. His last run came on December 10 over the mile here when back off the speed and tried hard when close up in defeat behind Alsephina, who is a Stakes class mare, so that form clearly reads well for a race like this, he sprints well fresh and I thought his recent trial behind Pixie Chix was a lovely piece of work.

Long Shot

2 Featherweight (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is a very interesting runner. Dan Morton trained gelding that resumes after a frustrating Spring/Summer prep where he was on track to being a potential Railway horse but he couldn’t quite put it together in benchmark races, running well but not winning. He does tend to race best on the fresh side and moved with purpose in a recent Lark Hill trial. Watch the market.
