Chelsea have joined many of the top European clubs in expressing an interest in signing a 6ft 1in centre back, according to a report from The Athletic this week.
As we know, Chelsea have been looking to sign up some of the top young talents from around the world since the new owners came in and took charge at the club.
This is a recruitment strategy that they are backing, and it means that they will continue to look at top young talents.
The centre back area is an area on the pitch that Chelsea are likely to still want to make improvements in and potentially add another player or two in one of the next transfer windows.
And it seems that they are shopping in South America again to potentially look at addressing this area of the pitch.
According to the report from The Athletic, Chelsea are amongst a host of top European clubs to have expressed an interest in centre back Vitor Reis.
Reis is an 18-year-old centre back standing at 6ft 1in tall, and he has been capped for Brazil at youth level up to U17s so far.
He currently plays in the same team as pending Chelsea player Estevao Willian at Palmeiras, so you’d suspect that Chelsea are probably watching him this season whilst keeping an eye on their new gem, Willian.
The report also mentions that other top European clubs are looking at him as well though, so Chelsea may well have some competition there.
