Rams vs. Ravens betting lines and props: Spread, over/under & picks for NFL Week 14 clash | Sporting News

The NFL season is at a crucial point, with teams fighting for playoff seeding and trying to stay alive for playoff contention with five weeks left in the regular season. Baltimore is first in the AFC, along with the Dolphins, who own the tiebreaker over the Ravens right now. Baltimore needs to keep winning and hope for a Miami loss if they want to earn the 1-seed and a first-round bye.

The Rams have surprised many, as most sportsbooks had their season win total at 6.5. With five games left, the Rams are only one game from hitting the over. That’s not all the Rams are fighting for, as they are sixth in the NFC but don’t own tiebreakers over the Vikings or Packers. If the season ended today, the Rams would miss the playoffs by one spot. Los Angeles needs to win three or four of their last five to secure a playoff spot.

That will be challenging against a strong Baltimore team that has won six of their last seven and is 8-4 against the spread this season. The Ravens have also covered the spread in three out of their last four, and their last two wins were by double digits.

As for the Rams, they are 6-6 this season but have been playing some of their best football of the season in recent weeks, winning their last three games. Los Angeles is also 6-6 against the spread, but over their three-game winning streak, they have covered their last two and hit the OVER total points, too.

Los Angeles Rams betting news

The season Los Angeles is putting together is quite impressive, considering the number of injuries they have dealt with. Quarterback Matt Stafford missed a game but was also unable to finish another. All-Pro wide receiver Cooper Kupp missed the first four games, and running back Kyren Williams has also missed four.

The Rams have benefited mightily from breakout players like Williams and rookie wide receiver Puka Nacua. Nacua’s early season play was a significant reason why the Rams were able to start 3-1 without Kupp. Williams, a second-year running back who only had 35 carries for 139 yards his rookie season, has taken over the backfield, rushing for 687 yards this season.

The key for the Rams has been health; when Los Angeles is at full strength, they can play with any opponent. Yet when key players have missed time, it has been a struggle. The Rams are 5-3 in matchups where Kyren Williams plays and 1-3 without him.

It is similar with their quarterback Matt Stafford — in contests where he has been unable to finish or did not play, the Rams are 0-2, but when he plays the entire game, the Rams are 6-4. The good news for the Rams is they are as healthy as they have been all season. Matt Stafford is healthy and will have all of his go-to weapons available to him.

Baltimore Ravens betting news

The Ravens have been one of the most impressive teams in the NFL this season. Baltimore is 9-3, and all three losses were within one touchdown. Baltimore is coming to play every week, and with one of the best defenses in the NFL, there is no opponent the Ravens can’t beat.

They have not been getting the hype of some other teams, and a lot of that is because the Ravens are not flashy. They have a balanced offense, and their defense has shut down some of the best offenses in the NFL. It took a lot of time for Baltimore to get Lamar Jackon’s extension done, and it even seemed he would not be back at times.

His play this season has proven he is worth every dollar he got. Lamar Jackson is on pace to have the most passing yards in his career and is still rushing the ball effectively but has not had to rely on his legs nearly as much this season. The receiving core for Baltimore is far and away the best Jackson has had in his NFL career.

There have been questions in the past about his ability to be a pocket passer and consistently be accurate. Now that he has a receiving group that is at least above average, he is proving doubters wrong. He may not be putting up MVP numbers, but he is leading the Ravens offense to be the best they have had in his six years in Baltimore.

The improved offense and a top-five defense in the NFL have Baltimore quietly looking like a Super Bowl contender. If the Ravens can get the No. 1 seed, it is tough to see any team going to Baltimore in the playoffs and beating them.

Rams vs. Ravens prediction: Ravens protect home field and handle the Rams

The Rams are healthy and playing their best football of the season, but a trip to Baltimore may be one of the most challenging road games of NFL Week 14. Baltimore’s defense is suffocating, and the offense is clicking, scoring over 30 points in five of their last six. It will be close for a half, but expect Baltimore to pull away in the fourth quarter to win comfortably.

Pick: Ravens
