Ffos Las betting tips

2.05: Heneryetta Bay 5/1

There aren’t many guarantees in maiden hurdles but this Class 4 has Heneryetta Bay who has won her only start in a point back in the winter of 2022.

She has promising pedigree and looks a great prospect for Warren Greatrex and has Sean Bowen on board which could be a huge plus.

Notably, the going is currently reading heavy at Ffos Las and she won her point on soft which has to be a bonus in this field of maidens, who have all attempted hurdles already.

At 4/1 a single on this horse looks a great choice considering her wind surgery in February and could be dangerous on her debut.

2.40: Lady Tremaine 11/4

Peter Kavanagh takes off 5lb for this Donald McCain-trained mare who makes her chase debut off top weight.

But she’s been in respectable form recently including over 3m but steps back in trip once more for her first start over fences.

That should help her stay on this time and won’t mind the soft to heavy conditions and even won her third point run which suggests she could have even more to offer over fences.

The eight-year-old mare has been given a chance in this Class 5 that doesn’t represent much pace on.

Warwick betting tips

2.15: Hermino AA & Hauraki Gulf, Exacta

Hermino AA is rated 123 but carries the same weight as Riskintheground.

Despite the odds it’s not a certainty with who will turn up on the day as these horses are still quite novicey.

But all at the front of the betting have shown promise recently or won in their last two runs.

Hermino AA won over Goodwin Racing in January, who went on to win their next run and his form was boosted further when a close second to multiple hurdle winner Howlingmadmurdock in March.

Hauraki Gulf is also a promising runner which makes an exacta the optimal choice.

He’s been close up in second twice and drops back in trip again to another well-suited trip to 2m3f where he also came second three starts ago to Arizona Cardinal in February 2022.

He’s yet to get off the mark over hurdles but is always up there and can’t be discounted.

3.25: No Rematch 6/1 (NB)

This nine-year-old for trainer Samuel Drinkwater hadn’t been seen over hurdles in February 2023 since coming second in February 2020.

He’s clearly still preferring this 2m trip over hurdles as he made all and even stayed on toward the line.

He’s mostly attempted around 3m and beyond, even chasing in a Grade 3 but has plummetted in the weights since winning his first chase at Chepstow in February 2021.

He’s down in the weights over hurdles too and remains off the same mark as his win last time out and even 3lb lower than his second last race over hurdles over three years ago and could make all in an open contest.

I Hope Star has only had three runs over hurdles and could also be on the up and has even placed behind Teddy Blue and Kayf Legend.

Elsewhere, Floating Rock is a huge 50/1 price and there should be an eye on this price for the five-time hurdle winner.

Haydock racing tips

2.25: Richmond Lake 15/8 (NAP)

Richmond Lake was a Grade 2 hurdler who has placed behind Jonbon at Haydock on soft ground before, and the going will be on his side on Wednesday afternoon.

He was beaten last time out in a four-runner contest at Ayr but that was on good to soft and he was only beaten by a length.

He was also giving away plenty of weight to the eventual winner One Fine Man.

As a result of his hurdle mark he’s been entered into Class 3’s and a mark of 130.

He’s only at 135 now and should still be progressing over fences and should have the right tactics deployed under Theo Gillard.
